Requirements
  • Parent/Student must be a FOP Lodge 263 member in good standing.
  • Applicant must be a full-time college student (12 or more credit hours per semester).
  • Applicant must provide proof of registration with this application for it to be considered. Proof of registration can be one of the following items:
    1. Registrar note indicating enrollment.
    2. Fall Class Schedule.
    3. Fall Tuition payment receipt.
    4. Receipt or a Letter of Acceptance. Note: Letters of acceptance must be followed by proof of registration before scholarship is awarded.



Award

$500

  • 9 individual scholarships awarded by random drawing in September.
  • One scholarship will be awarded for each of the seven districts and two statewide (The Bill Kerfin Scholarship and The Gerald Raines Scholarship).
  • Associate member submissions will be eligible only for the statewide drawing.

Application Deadline

All applications must be received NO LATER THAN August 15th. PLEASE NOTE:Incomplete applications will NOT be processed.

State ILFOP Scholarship

Scholarship Application DUE September 19th

Each year, the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police awards $9,000 in scholarships to college students whose parents are members in good standing. Chosen at random, one applicant from each of the 18 representative FOP districts in Illinois will receive $500 towards college expenses. The random drawing will be held during the September 26, 2019 meeting of the ILFOP full Board of Trustees. Winners will be notified within one week after the drawing via e-mail. Incomplete applications will not be included in the drawing.

Additional Scholarships to be Awared:
ISPFCU-Your Law Enforcement Credit Union will again sponsor a 19th $500 winner.
Eligibility Requirements
ALL criteria must be true and checked.
  • Applicant is a full-time, undergraduate student (12 or more credit hours per semester) at an accredited junior college or four-year institution.
  • Parent/guardian is a current member in good standing with the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police.
  • Applicant has provided, along with the application, proof of registration for the upcoming fall semester (see acceptable forms of proof under “Submission Information” below.)

Submission Information
  • Applicant must send completed application, along with proof of registration for the upcoming fall semester, which must include one of the following (1) notice from registrar, (2) class schedule, or (3) tuition payment receipt.
  • Incomplete applications and those submitted without the required accompanying materials will not be entered.
  • Applications due no later than September 13th.
  • Submit by printing and returning to the State Lodge or by e-mail using the link below with attached required information.

Our Mission


The mission of the Fraternal Order of Police, Illinois Corrections Lodge 263, shall be to provide its members with the opportunity to support and interact and be a part of and have a voice as its brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement of all entities. We will encourage and promote friendships, participate in charity, fraternal, civic and legislative events for betterment and positive promotion of its members and their needs as well as the community.
