The FOP Death Benefit Program is also included with your membership. The benefits include: $3,000 Felonious Assault, $3,000 Accidental Death, $5,000 Line of Duty, $3,000 Common Carrier, and 15 more expanded accident benefits. More information is available upon request.
Each new member will receive a membership ID card (renewed yearly) and one vehicle medallion. NOTE: Any annual items/gifts issued annually beyond the membership card is subject to Executive Board expenditure approval. In addition, you will receive one Legal Defense membership card (this card is good until your plan is terminated), and you will have access to National FOP Lodge newsletters and communication.
Some of the above benefits are at a cost to you, but could come in handy in the future. If you have any questions on these benefits please contact a FOP representative.

How to Join

You are eligible for membership if you attended a Corrections Academy and are employed in a Security Ranking (badge) position, in a State, Federal or County Correctional facility located in Illinois.
Officers/Agents who want to become members of the Lodge must fill out an application. This can be done here on the website electronically here OR it can be mailed to the lodge at the address below/listed on the application OR it can be given to a Lodge Executive Board Officer for submission.

Dues Payment
NEW IDOC MEMBERS

New IDOC members sign up for payroll deduction, dues are $20 a month. (IDOC is split between the 2 pay periods a month. Your membership is automatically renewed annually. You must be paying dues to remain active with your benefits intact (including Legal Defense Coverage).

WORK RELATED LOA

Work related LOA (send us an email and a copy of your Work Comp approval letter) the Lodge will cover up to 6 months of your dues, after that you will need to send a check to the FOP Lodge 263 mailing address (or make a “DUES PAYMENT” through our online store” for the months that you anticipate being off and when you return to work ensure that your deduction went back into effect (it should but please verify it.

NON WORK RELATED LOA

If you are going on NON Work related LOA (send us an email) your dues are not taken out, you must make payment directly to the lodge! Send a check to the FOP Lodge 263 mailing address (or make a “DUES PAYMENT” through our online store” for the months that you anticipate being off and when you return to work ensure that your deduction went back into effect (it should but please verify it.

RETIREE

Dues are reduced to $4 a month. We encourage IDOC SRS pay deduction they will require you to submit a new deduction card directly to SRS, as indicated in your retirement packet you must complete prior to retiring. You will want to pay the lodge directly for approx. 3 months of dues (as it takes that long to get an SRS paycheck. Dues can be annually paid in full to the lodge by check/money order or on our online store but you are encouraged to use the SRS deduction to ensure that there are no disruptions.

FEDERAL/COUNTY CORRECTIONS MEMBERS

FEDERAL/COUNTY CORRECTIONS members sign up for BANK deduction, dues are $20 a month. Complete the bank deduction form and return to the Treasurer as listed on the form. Your membership is automatically renewed annually. You must be paying dues to remain active with your benefits intact (including Legal Defense Coverage).

*YOUR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION IS NOT PROCESSED UNTIL YOUR DUES PAY SHOW UP ON THE DUES REPORT*

our application is then processed by Lodge 263, then IL State Lodge, then National Lodge. National Lodge then prints your membership card, and sends it to Lodge 263, we then send via postal mail your membership card and materials. Legal Defense may come in a separate package.

RETIREE RENEWALS AND PAYMENTS

All retirees/upcoming retirees should contact the Lodge Secretary and or the Lodge Retiree Trustee concerning membership maintenance.

Any changes made after your application is processed, visit the Member Page and find membership update section and complete the update form.

Our Mission


The mission of the Fraternal Order of Police, Illinois Corrections Lodge 263, shall be to provide its members with the opportunity to support and interact and be a part of and have a voice as its brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement of all entities. We will encourage and promote friendships, participate in charity, fraternal, civic and legislative events for betterment and positive promotion of its members and their needs as well as the community.
